From platinum-based cancer therapy to precision nuclear medicine and radiobiology : a journey from Grenoble and Orsay to Mianyang

Résumé :

This talk will firstly present my research journey from cancer nanotheranostics at IAB in Grenoble and Institut Curie in Orsay, including our early studies on platinum-based radiosensitization, to my current work on radiopharmaceutical development and radiobiology in Mianyang. Using platinum-based cancer therapy as a central thread, I will discuss our efforts to enhance platinum response through combination with radiation, understand its subcellular and mitochondrial mechanisms, visualize mitochondrial vulnerability, and we recently identify patients most likely to benefit from platinum-based chemotherapy. Together, these studies illustrate my efforts from drug development and mechanistic investigation toward precision patient stratification. I will also shortly introduce our radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, as well as clinical platforms, including targeted radionuclide therapy, X/e-FLASH radiotherapy, with the goal of establishing quantitative links between energy deposition, subcellular damage, DNA repair/ RNA splicing, tumor microenvironment remodeling, and therapeutic response. I hope to further strengthen long-term China–France collaboration and promote the establishment of a China–France Joint Laboratory for Translational Nuclear Medicine and Medical Applications of Nuclear Technology.
